Folsom Dam Flood Control Upgrades - Funding Update
Critical for protecting Sacramento against flooding.
Funding for Folsom Dam (American River, Sacramento County, California, USA) flood control upgrades now seems assured. The Water Resources Development Act of 2007 passed the U.S. Congress by a veto-proof super majority, so although the President has not yet signed the bill there appears to be no purpose for him to attempt a veto. Sacramento will remain the U.S. city with the lowest level of flood protection for a period of 10 - 15 years while this project is under construction! After Folsom Dam and downstream levees are upgraded Sacramento will be protected against a 200-year flood.More about: Folsom Dam Directory.
