Cache Creek Rumsey Run - Whitewater River Guide & Map
Reliable flows of warm water make this creek a popular summertime paddleboating run for small rafts, IKs, kayaks & innertubes. The rafting companies launch crowds of inexperienced boaters on the weekend mornings, so plan on launching in the afternoon if you want to avoid these crowds. Proximity to the road enables many alternate put-in / take-out locations and bicycle shuttles if needed. In winter big water boating after a storm is great for groups that have the necessary skills. This section of Cache Creek is protected as part of California's Wild and Scenic Rivers System. (Yolo County, California, USA)
Distances: Put-in to Camp Haswell 5.6 miles, to Rumsey Bridge 8.4 miles.
(id=6078)
The flow at Rumsey (above) should tell exactly the flow on the Rumsey Run, but this gauge has been unreliable in recent years.
(id=4144)
A second method of getting the flow on the Rumsey Run is to add the release from Indian Valley Reservoir (above) with the discharge from Clear Lake into Cache Creek.
